■ Comment by Emi Tokunaga, CEO of Genei Co., Ltd.

“THE JUNEI HOTEL Kyoto Gosho Nishi is in its 4th year of operation. It is very difficult to be selected as the 5th place in the world-famous Japanese hotel ranking by voting from experienced travelers from all over the world. I am honored.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all of the guests who have stayed at the hotel since it opened on July 1, 2017, and the people who cooperated with us for their warm support.

“JUNEI” is written as “Shouning”. We want to deliver hospitality politely, gently snuggle up to the customer’s pot, and deliver the pot.
The logo of the hotel is based on the motif of sunflower seeds, which are the flower words “I love you, make you smile”, and “I want to be the seed of happiness and smiles for our customers”. I have 5 of them.

In the future, all employees will continue to devote themselves to their work so that we can pray from the bottom of our hearts for each and every one of our customers and make the hotel a place where they can be close to their hearts.

We want to be a hotel where customers can feel the depth and splendor of Kyoto, Japan, and thereby bring smiles to our customers, and the experience during our stay will never be forgotten. We hope that it will be remembered by our customers.

■ THE JUNEI HOTEL Kyoto Gosho Nishi (Opened July 1, 2017)

THE JUNEI HOTEL Kyoto Imperial Palace Nishi opened its first store on July 1, 2017 as a community-based small luxury hotel with a total of eight rooms, with the vision of “bringing the beauty of Japan inside and outside the world.” Based on the concept of “comfort felt with all five senses and an emotional experience of α”, we provide guest rooms with a focus on materials that make full use of traditional Kyoto techniques, and services that exceed the expectations of each and every customer.

Not only staying overnight, but also collaborating with local partners and tourist associations to convey the “tradition” and “culture” of Kyoto, providing a unique and inspiring and special experience that will never be forgotten. I am aiming for that.

■ THE JUNEI HOTEL Kyoto 2nd store (opened March 28, 2020)

On March 28, 2020, we opened our second store, “THE JUNEI HOTEL Kyoto,” with the concept of “bamboo and moon,” supported by many partners in the wake of the corona. Your stay at “THE JUNEI HOTEL Kyoto” is surrounded by bamboo, which symbolizes the relationship between people, and the moon, which illuminates the gentle mountains of Higashiyama, Kyoto. The hotel is built with bamboo as a landscape, and the interior and guest rooms are made with traditional bamboo crafts with excellent design, and the beauty of bamboo is arranged in the hotel.

In the hall and guest rooms, we have set up “Yumekoro-zome,” which is said to be a dyeing of the sun that shines in the light. By expressing “the moon that shines only with the light it receives,” we hope that our customers will shine like the sun.

[Hoshinoya Tokyo] “New Year’s Kabuki Stay” brings the hospitality of an Edo Period theatrical teahouse to the present day.

Hoshinoya Tokyo, a Japanese-style inn located in Otemachi, Tokyo, will again this year host the “New Year Kabuki Stay” program, a two-day and one-night stay from January 5 to 26, 2024.
For people living in Edo, one of their New Year’s pleasures was to watch Kabuki, and it was a chic way to spend the New Year. Theatrical teahouses supported this way of enjoying Kabuki. In addition to arranging tickets to the theater, the teahouses delighted patrons by providing a complete range of services, including plot notes, tea, sweets, makunouchi box lunches, and snacks and drinks (*1). Hoshinoya Tokyo offers a stay to celebrate the New Year with hospitality similar to the theatrical teahouses of the time.

[Shinjuku Gyoen x Naked] NAKED Autumn Foliage in Shinjuku Gyoen 2023 to be held

From November 22 (Wed) to December 3 (Sun), 2023, an autumn foliage lighting event will be held at Shinjuku Gyoen. Following the cherry blossom event this spring, Shinjuku Gyoen and Naked will collaborate again this fall for the autumn foliage event. Shinjuku Gyoen, one of Tokyo’s most famous gardens, is one of the few places in the city where visitors can enjoy the autumn leaves. The 200-meter-long rows of plane trees, the best maple tree spot in the city, Momijiyama, and the “Middle Pond,” with its spectacular reflection in the pond, will offer a world where the autumn leaves of Shinjuku Gyoen and Naked’s art and food are fused together.
