Reikan-ji Temple, also known as ‘Camellia Temple’, was founded in 1654 by Tarimiya, the princess of Emperor Gomizunoo, and is an amamonzeki temple where successive princesses served as chief priests.
A special spring exhibition will be held from Saturday, March 18, 2023 to Sunday, April 9, 2023.

There are more than 100 types of camellias that can be seen in the garden, including Nikko camellias (Natural Monument designated by Kyoto City), Chiri camellias, Shirabotan camellias, and Maizuru camellias.
The timing of flowering varies depending on the type of camellia, so you can enjoy different views depending on when you visit.
