[Risonare Kohama Island] Plan to spend time in the finest guest rooms and activities “Luxury at dawn-Royal Suite Room Stay-“

2022.01.20

At the remote island beach resort “Hoshino Resort Risonare Kohama Island” located in the southernmost Yaeyama Islands in Japan, we propose a new trip where you can enjoy a luxurious resort experience with the theme of “luxury”.

Guest room "Royal Suite" with private pool

We will stay in the “Royal Suite”, the largest of the 60 guest rooms on the 360,000 tsubo site, which is 95 square meters. Rooms are equipped with a private pool, whirlpool and sauna. You can spend a luxurious time while feeling the breeze in the guest room that harmonizes everything.
Local liquor such as awamori and beer is prepared in the minibar. You can spend a luxurious time in your private guest room.

Play on a "phantom island" by charter boat, at a golf course overlooking the sea

Board the boat from the beach and go straight to the “phantom island”. “Phantom island” is a crescent-shaped uninhabited island that appears when the tide is low. Since it is an uninhabited island, there are no artifacts such as buildings, and as far as the eye can see, the white sandy beach spreads all over.

After enjoying a 360-degree panoramic view, you can move to the coral reef area and experience snorkeling while watching a variety of tropical fish and coral.

In addition, enjoy resort golf in the authentic American style set up in the facility.
You can play while looking at the blue location that even blurs the boundary between the sea and the sky. No need to bring golf clubs or shoes. You can enjoy resort golf empty-handed.

The finest spa treatment in front of the cobalt blue sea

Use treatments to prepare your entire body while admiring spectacular views in the facility’s highest spa room.
With a smooth, wave-like touch that gently hits the beach, you can spend time preparing your mind and body.
It is a “Ryukyu Spa” that moisturizes the body and invites you to the best comfort while being wrapped in the aromas of Shikuwasa and Hibiscus, which are familiar in Okinawa.

Eighty Years After the War: A Reflection on the Preciousness of Ordinary Life YUKIKAZE – In Theaters Nationwide from August 15, 2025

“To Return Alive, To Bring Others Home Alive”

Opening nationwide on August 15, 2025—marking eighty years since the end of World War II—YUKIKAZE is a feature film based on the true story of the Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN) destroyer Yukikaze, a vessel that rescued countless lives amid the horrors of war. A press screening was held in advance at the Sony Pictures screening room.

The destroyer Yukikaze, which served throughout the Pacific War, was renowned for rescuing numerous sailors thrown into the sea during fierce naval battles, surviving to the end of the war virtually unscathed. It earned the legendary moniker “the lucky ship.” This film brings to life the ship’s heroic journey, alongside the lives of those who persevered through one of the most turbulent eras in modern history.

Leading the cast is Yutaka Takenouchi as Captain Kazutoshi Terasawa—a fictional amalgamation inspired by the real-life captains of Yukikaze. Hiroshi Tamaki portrays Petty Officer First Class Kohei Hayase. Supporting roles are delivered by an ensemble of acclaimed actors including Daiken Okudaira, Rena Tanaka, Kanji Ishimaru, and Toru Masuoka. Kiichi Nakai delivers a commanding performance as Vice Admiral Seiichi Itō, the Second Fleet Commander of the IJN who met his fate aboard the battleship Yamato.

In today’s world, once again shaken by division and violence, YUKIKAZE poses an urgent question to those of us living in the peace that others fought to protect: Are we once again treading the path of past mistakes? As collective memory of the war fades, this film becomes ever more vital—a call to reflect on the true value of peace.
