Reproduce the room of four and a half tatami mats where producer Suzuki spent his boyhood

A room of four and a half mats, which is reproduced by interweaving a little “ideal” with the memory of Suzuki producer’s boyhood.
As a boy, Suzuki producer said that he didn’t throw away manga magazines, stored them all in his room, and read them when he had free time.
Feel like you’ve slipped back in time from 2022 to the 1950s.
From here, the journey to touch the secret of the birth of Studio Ghibli begins.

Most of Studio Ghibli’s works were born from casual conversations between Isao Takahata, Hayao Miyazaki and producer Suzuki.
And Suzuki producer has played many roles in order to deliver the created work to many people.

8,800 special bookshelves to decorate the last of the exhibition

No-Face is quietly reading in the middle of the condensed space, as if looking into the head of Mr. Suzuki, who has sent out many masterpieces.
This room has the motif of Mr. Suzuki’s hideout, a brick shop, and shows 8,800 books that shaped Mr. Suzuki’s past.

“Ofuki mini” is the main visual of the exhibition dyed with “Kyo Yuzen”, an advanced technique for kimono.
Kimono dyeing craftsmen finish each piece by hand.

Collaboration with this exhibition. This is an original design inspired by Chihiro and the cherry blossoms in Kyoto.

The long-established store “Ryokujuan Shimizu in Kyoto”, which was founded 175 years ago.
We will prepare a black konpeito that is based on the image of Susuwatari that appears in “Spirited Away”, which is the main visual of this time, and an image of “Konpeito” that is Susuwatari’s favorite food.

In the summer, Tokyo’s “Toshio Suzuki and Studio Ghibli Exhibition” will return to Tokyo for the first time in three years.
Appeared in “Spirited Away” (2001) directed by Hayao Miyazaki for the Tokyo exhibition only.
A large space with the motif of the bathhouse “Aburaya”, < Aburaya Annex> will appear.
