Reiwa 4th year 31st Yanai Goldfish Lantern Festival
A big summer event with the motif of Yanai’s folk craft “Goldfish lantern”. This year, it will be held as a festival where you can enjoy the atmosphere of the venue slowly under the light of goldfish lanterns.

The strange festival of the world “Suhoteisai” Shimonoseki City Iminomiya Shrine
It is a Shinto ritual held at Iminomiya Shrine, and the way the Nobori flutters in the summer breeze is a fantastic and tasteful festival.
This unique festival, in which the large temple of Moso bamboo is carried high in the sky and goes around the “Onishi” three times, is also called “the strange festival of the world”.
About 1800 years ago, the 14th Emperor Chuai is said to have started celebrating the victory of the demon subjugation, and has been designated as an intangible folk cultural property of Yamaguchi.

“Gotanshinsai” Hofu City Hofu Tenmangu Shrine
The Gotanshinsai is a festival to celebrate the birthday of Sugawara no Michizane, the god of rituals. Michizane was born on June 25th of the lunar calendar in 845, and the solar calendar of that year is August 5th. For three days from August 3rd to 5th, we will hold various dedication events such as fireworks display and Mantou evening to celebrate Michizane’s birthday.

“Yamaguchi Tanabata Lantern Festival” Yamaguchi City
It is said that the guardian daimyo Moriharu Oouchi lit a high bamboo lantern on the night of Obon to pray for the souls of his ancestors during the Muromachi period, and it is a traditional festival that has continued for about 600 years.
Tens of thousands of red lanterns on bamboo give off a fantastic light, and the shopping street is beautifully colored by the tunnel of lanterns.
Even now, the candles are actually lit and decorated.
