The resort hotel ‘Kyukamura Retreat Azumino Hotel’, located in the Hotaka Onsen resort area of Azumino City, Nagano Prefecture, will double the number of dates available for its ‘Azumino and Mount Nagamine Scenic Tour’—which offers early risers the chance to admire the Northern Alps bathed in the colours of the sunrise—and will begin selling tickets from Saturday 19 September.
Azumino City Tourism Association (General Incorporated Foundation) Presents: The Azumino and Mount Nagamine Spectacular Views Tour
We set off by car early in the morning, heading for the summit of Mount Nagamine at an altitude of 933 metres. From the summit, you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the Azumi Plain and the Northern Alps, with their chain of 3,000-metre-class peaks; you can also take in a panoramic view of Mount Jōnen—the symbol of Azumino—and the Hakuba mountain range. During the coming autumn season (particularly in November), sea of clouds frequently form, offering a prime opportunity to see the Northern Alps towering above them if you are lucky.
