Hoshinoya Karuizawa will offer “Karuizawa Kinshu no Kenko Stay” from September 1 to November 30, 2023. Before the weaving experience, the hotel will offer a new experience called “Tour of Autumn Colors in the Valley,” in which guests will tour the grounds with a gardener and learn about the richness of colors woven by nature in autumn. This will help to condition the body and mind while enhancing mental sensitivity and cultivating the ability to cope with seasonal changes.

At Hoshinoya Karuizawa, the grounds are decorated with different shades of autumn leaves in different colors in the fall. In this experience, you will tour the grounds with a gardener while listening to the characteristics of the plants and the gardener’s thoughts on the garden.
"Shinshu Ueda Tsumugi weaving experience" where you choose threads in colors that resonate with you and weave them together.
In the “Teahouse,” a Japanese-style house on the premises, participants will experience weaving under the guidance of a traditional craftsman (*2) from the long-established Ueda Tsumugi (silk) workshop.
The weaved fabrics will be finished by the craftsman and made into a color pocketbook for your heart or a sakosh to carry your important things, which will be delivered to your home at a later date.
