At Tsugaike Kogen, Hakuba Iwatake, Hakuba Happoone, and Kitashiga Ryuo, which are located in Nagano Prefecture, you can easily access the high altitude scenic area by taking a gondola or ropeway.
A treasure trove of alpine plants, the observation marsh located at an altitude of 2,010 m is the only area in the area where you can see the Hakuba Taisetsu Valley, one of Japan’s three major snow valleys. Most of the hiking routes have wooden paths and barrier-free courses.

The only cafe and terrace in Hakuba where you can enjoy the panoramic view of the four seasons from the top of the mountain, with the three mountains of Hakuba in front of you. In autumn, you can also see the snow-capped snow in the Northern Alps, the red autumn leaves on the hillside, and the three-tiered autumn leaves where the green trees at the foot of the mountain overlap.

“Happo Pond”, a mountain landscape representing Japan at an altitude of 2,060m, was selected as one of the “36 Most Beautiful Places in Japan *1” by connecting a gondola and a lift. The beautiful pond that reflects Shirouma Sanzan on the surface of the water like a big mirror is one of the spectacular views that you definitely want to see. The promenade to Happo Pond has an excellent view and is a treasure trove of alpine plants. There is also “HAKUBA MOUNTAIN BEACH” at the gondola lift mountaintop station.

Ride the world’s largest 166-seater ropeway above the clouds. For people living in Edo, one of their New Year’s pleasures was to watch Kabuki, and it was a chic way to spend the New Year. Theatrical teahouses supported this way of enjoying Kabuki. In addition to arranging tickets to the theater, the teahouses delighted patrons by providing a complete range of services, including plot notes, tea, sweets, makunouchi box lunches, and snacks and drinks (*1). From November 22 (Wed) to December 3 (Sun), 2023, an autumn foliage lighting event will be held at Shinjuku Gyoen. Following the cherry blossom event this spring, Shinjuku Gyoen and Naked will collaborate again this fall for the autumn foliage event. Shinjuku Gyoen, one of Tokyo’s most famous gardens, is one of the few places in the city where visitors can enjoy the autumn leaves. The 200-meter-long rows of plane trees, the best maple tree spot in the city, Momijiyama, and the “Middle Pond,” with its spectacular reflection in the pond, will offer a world where the autumn leaves of Shinjuku Gyoen and Naked’s art and food are fused together.
