Japanese-style guest rooms and hot springs where you can relax and enjoy the Japanese atmosphere.
<Guest room>
The guest rooms at Hoshinoya Tokyo are Japanese-style rooms featuring furnishings made of bamboo and chestnut materials and taiko paper sliding doors. The hemp leaf pattern on the exterior reflects the gentle passage of time on the shoji screens. The “Tatami sofa,” with its low center of gravity to match the tatami space, and original bedding make for a relaxing stay.
*Rooms to be accommodated are subject to availability.
<Ochama Lounge>
The “Ochanoma Lounge” is a semi-private space available only to guests on each guest room floor, and can be freely used 24 hours a day. It can be freely accessed from the tatami rooms and is a space where you can relax as if you were in your living room.
<Hot spring>
On the 17th floor, the top floor, there is an open-air bath and an indoor bath that draws water from the natural hot spring “Otemachi Onsen” that wells up from 1,500m underground. You can feel the wind and sounds of Tokyo, and feel the season from the colors of the sky and the appearance of clouds beyond the high ceiling. You can see the stars at night, and you can enjoy the feeling of traveling far away even though you are in the center of the city. Soak in the hot water and relax.
Meal incorporating Edo culture
Breakfast and dinner will be served in a traditional Ojyu style. The main dish for dinner is chirashi sushi using beef. The beef is seasoned with yuan-ji, which is made of soy sauce, sake, mirin, and kelp, and cooked at a low temperature so that it soaks in thoroughly. The gentle flavor of the meat, combined with the salmon roe and sushi rice, creates a mouthwatering dish.
When you open the simple stacked box, the bright and gorgeous dishes are lined up in front of you, allowing you to enjoy both the taste and the appearance. Since it is served in your guest room, you can enjoy a private and relaxing meal time.
Breakfast is a Japanese-style meal featuring “yuyakko,” which is available only with this plan. Yuyakko is a one-pot dish of tofu in simmering kuzu-yu, served with leek and grated radish. It is one of the tofu dishes handed down from the Edo period, and the white ingredients of “white rice,” “daikon” and “tofu” are known as the “three whites” of Edo. The simple yet robust flavor of this dish warms the body.
Soba and Sake Comparison with Seasonal Ingredients
As an evening meal, we will offer “Hitokuchi Soba” and three kinds of Sake to be enjoyed standing. It is said that the origin of standing-only soba originated in Edo (present-day Tokyo), making this a cultural experience. The menu will be served with seasonal ingredients, so you can enjoy it with ginkgo nuts and taro in autumn. In addition, three types of sake, carefully selected from sake breweries across the country, can be compared exclusively with this plan.
Recommended activities (reservation required)
・”Tenku Asa-Geiko (Morning Practice in the Sky)” to refresh your body and mind with kenjutsu practice 160 meters above the ground
This is our original practice combining kenjutsu movements and deep breathing in the clean morning air. By using a wooden sword and performing large movements of kenjutsu, all the muscles in the body are exercised properly. This is an activity to wake up the body pleasantly in the morning sun on the rooftop of a high-rise building where you can see far and wide with an unobstructed view. From the rooftop of a large open building, you can enjoy the view of Tokyo buildings, Sky Tree, and Tokyo Tower below.
・”Oedo Meister” arranges shopping and sightseeing according to customers’ requests
The “Oedo Meister,” who is well versed in the long-established shops in Kanda, Nihonbashi, and Ningyocho, will arrange dining, shopping, and sightseeing according to your requests. In addition to enjoying eating and shopping while touring the city, you can also touch and purchase items from long-established stores while inside the museum.
・A Time to Play with Fragrances “Imasama Fragrance Matching”
Kodo is also described as “listening” to the fragrance. In order to truly face the fragrance, Hoshinoya Tokyo uses a modern version of an incense burner to listen to the faint differences between the three types of fragrant woods. This is an experience to learn about the history of Japanese fragrance and to be amazed at the delicate sensitivity of the Japanese people.
