The garden of “Konkai Komyoji” with beautiful autumn leaves is open to the public for a limited time

2021.10.09

Konkai-Komyoji Temple, a temple related to the Shinsengumi, became the headquarters of the Kyoto Shugoshoku (Aizu clan) at the end of the Tokugawa shogunate. In the autumn special visit, the Shoin, which is usually closed during the day and night, and the strolling garden “Shiun no Niwa”, which is colored with autumn leaves, will be open to the public. The period is from November 12th to December 5th, 2021.

During the daytime visit, in addition to Mikagedo, Ogatajo, and the garden, the “Sanmon” with a panoramic view of the city will be open to the public. When the weather is nice, the view from the top of the mountain gate overlooking Abeno Harukas in Osaka is superb. In addition, you can see the statues of Shaka Sanmon and Sixteen Arhats enshrined inside the roof of the mountain gate, and the powerful “Kuryu-zu” drawn on the entire ceiling.

In addition, during the night visit, “live performances of Japanese music such as koto and shinobue” are held three times daily at the Hojo-mae Garden. On Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays during the period, we will hold a “premium viewing plan” that allows you to enter 30 minutes earlier than usual. It is a popular plan every year that you can see with the guidance of a purveyor craftsman or a garden concierge.
Advance reservation is required on the website.
Don’t miss the illuminated autumn leaves reflected on the surface of the “Shiun no Niwa”.
