Have a Halloween under the starry sky on a remote island! “Beach Halloween on a starry night”

2020.09.05

The remote island beach resort “Hoshino Resort Risonare Kohamajima” located in the southernmost Yaeyama Islands in Japan will hold the Halloween event “Starry Night Beach Halloween” for the first time from October 1st to 31st, 2020. It is an event where you can spend a relaxing and calm Halloween while gazing at the starry sky at the “Halloween Lounge” installed on the beach next to the hotel.

The resort is located in Iriomote Ishigaki National Park, which has been certified by the “Starry Sky Reserve Certification System”, and you can see nearby as if the stars were falling. You can enjoy a relaxing Halloween on the beach of a remote island by tasting “Kurotosu Mojito” with star fruits and “Star-shaped chinsuko”, a traditional Okinawan candy, dressed up in a masquerade mask that looks like a starry sky.

The resort hotel brand “Hoshino Resorts RISONARE”, which operates at five locations throughout Japan, holds Halloween events that make the most of the individual characteristics of each facility. On Kohama Island, located in the Yaeyama Islands, Okinawa Prefecture, you can see all 21 first-class stars and 84 constellations out of 88. In the environment where you can see the sky full of stars, we wanted to have you relax and experience Halloween on the beach of a remote island away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Features of the event

1”Halloween lounge” where you can spend a relaxing time looking at the starry sky at the beach

The resort is located in Iriomote Ishigaki National Park, which was the first in Japan to be certified by the IDA (International Darkness Association) “Starry Sky Reserve Certification System”. The hotel’s beach is ideal for stargazing, with little artificial light and no tall buildings around you. Taking advantage of this environment, we will set up a “Halloween lounge” on the beach so that you can relax and enjoy Halloween.

A sofa and table made of white sand, a bonfire in the middle, and a jack o lantern are used for decoration. In a space illuminated by warm orange light, you can listen to the sound of the waves and feel the pleasant breeze while enjoying the starry sky of nature.

2 Enjoy star-themed sake and sweets

The Halloween Lounge offers free star-themed liquor and sweets. The sake is “Brown sugar mojito” with fresh orange in rum and brown sugar syrup to make two layers, orange and black, and star fruit. The colors that are familiar to Halloween and the star fruits that make the stars look like they are shining in the starry sky are a dish that shines in the starry sky. For sweets, we will prepare a star-shaped chinsuko. The shape is lovely, you can feel the moist and sweet taste, and it is perfect for sake.

3 Masquerade mask with the image of starry sky disguised

You can make your own masquerade masks that are decorated with white coral sand, star sand, shells, etc. By decorating star sand with star-shaped particles and starfish shells, you can complete a costume product that looks like a starry sky.
