2023.02.01

Hoshinoya Karuizawa will hold the “Karuizawa Flower Festival” from March 1 to April 28, 2023. Approximately 300 flower lanterns will light up the terraced rice fields that symbolize Hoshinoya Karuizawa.

A fantastic space created by approximately 300 flower lanterns

Flower and lanterns are decorated with the motifs of three types of flowers that bloom on the grounds of Hoshinoya Karuizawa in the spring: fuchu-jyu-so, ruri-so, and azumai-itchige. Every day, staff members light the candles of the flower lanterns by hand. Floating flower lanterns that look as if they are blooming on the surface of the water and the heartwarming flickering of the fire create a fantastic space.

Hana no Banquet Evening Meal" with the theme of the arrival of spring

The “Hana no Banquet Evening Meal” themed on the arrival of spring will be served on the terrace of the main dining room “Japanese Cuisine Kasuke” where you can overlook the fantastic scenery. The main dish will be a three-tiered stacked meal featuring wild vegetables and river fish. The special dinner can be enjoyed while viewing the scene created by the hana-andon lanterns.

Live Gagaku music in harmony with the sounds of nature

Live Gagaku (traditional Japanese court music) will be performed in a fantastic space with floating flower lanterns on weekends during the event period.
